J-drama Review: Attention Please (2006)

Hello everyoneeee! I decided to watch this drama because it's story about cabin attendant a.k.a cabin crew. Ehem I've ever wanted to be a cabin attendant myself, so I'm interested to know more about reality behind the industry. In real life, I also have some cabin attendant friends and it made me aware about how serious that job is. It's not only about serving drinks or food on board guys.

ATTENTION PLEASE (2006)

PLOT:
Losing her mother at a young age, Misaki Yoko (Ueto Aya) was raised amongst three brothers. Yoko is a slightly boyish girl who is bullheaded and hates dishonesty. Ever since she was young, she enjoyed the company of boys over girls. She starts a band with four of her boy friends and becomes the lead singer. Then one day, one of the members of the band, Tsukasa, gets a job at a bank in Tokyo. Due to Tsukasa leaving town, the band breaks up and though Yoko finds herself lonely, she puts on a strong act in front of Tsukasa. She can't tell Tsukasa how she truly feels for him. On the day Tsukasa leaves for Tokyo, Yoko goes along with the band members to the airport to see him off. The guys get excited when they see some cabin crew ladies and Yoko has no idea why. She reminds them that even she can wear a uniform, but the guys only make fun of her. That's when Tsukasa tells Yoko he wonders what she'd look like dressed in uniform. This is when Yoko decides she wants to work as a Cabin Attendant. (credit: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Attention_Please)

Misaki Youko, the most rebellious student in Mikami Class

FIRST IMPRESSION:
Actually I watched it before read the synopsis (I always do that, to prevent spoiler leaks that will reduce the enjoyment in watching) and I thought this drama would be another typical movie / drama about cabin attendant; such as a girl who has a dream to be a cabin attendant at first place and fight her best to pursue her dream. THAT'S COMPLETELY WRONG.
Misaki Youko never expected that she would learn to be a cabin attendant with her spontaneous words, rebellious acts and boyish attitude. Everyone mocked at her and everyone said she won't be a cabin attendant forever. Slowly but sure she learned a lot during training period. She has been through many hardship, laugh and pain till her JOT (Job on Training) period.

Sekiyama Yuki & Wakamura Yayoi, Youko's closest friends

Anyway I didn't realize that Wakamura Yayoi is Aibu Saki; who also played in Zettai Kareshi Dorama. She was perfect for Wakamura Yayoi, because she's good looking but didn't overshadow Ueto Aya as the female lead :)

The situation in Mikami Class, they were on training

About Shouta & Youko:
Nishikido Ryo's acting was quite plain in this drama and I am kinda dislike his messy hairstyle LOL.
Compared to Ueto Aya, her acting was EXCELLENT in many levels. She could portrayed Misaki Youko's life very well and it made this drama became more succeed in 2006.

Overall Thoughts:
Through this drama, you will see the sweet bitter reality behind their smiles and service in flight. Being a cabin attendant is surely not a easy job. You will take a important role to ensure passengers' safety and take right decision for emergency situations. This drama is really goooood and enjoyable! :) :)

Two thumbs up for Attention Please!
